Student Refund Policy & Procedure

Refund Policy

Girne American University-Canterbury registration fee of  250 GBP is non-refundable.

For International Students

International students that are refused a visa are entitled to a refund. A refund request must be submitted within 30 days of the refusal. The Admissions office will need the official visa refusal letter (originals only) and may request copies of every page in the applicant`s passport and the return of any acceptance documents we have issued.

Once verification of the authenticity of the visa refusal with the appropriate British overseas posting (Embassy/High Commission), the refund can be initiated.

Withdrawing from a Programme

Before Start Date

Students cancelling / withdrawing from a Programme before the start date of the programme may obtain a refund from the Admissions Office upon written application.

After Start Date

The university will deduct 25% from fees for withdrawals made before the sixth week of a semester. Withdrawals made after the sixth week will not be entitled to a refund.

The university is required by law to report international students who are withdrawing from a programme of study to the UKBA.

Girne American University-Canterbury reserves the right to cancel a programme, or course, when there are insufficient applicants. In such cases are entitled to a refund minus a non-refundable application and registration fee.
